The Estonian Olympic Committee (EOC) is the umbrella organisation of Estonian sport, which is engaged in the development of elite sport, the popularisation of youth sport, and the promotion of physical activity, valuing the rules of fair play. The members of the EOC are Estonian sports federations, sports associations, sports federations of counties, and natural persons elected under the Olympic Charter. The Estonian Olympic Committee is also responsible for sending the national team to the Olympic Games. In total, Estonia and Estonian athletes have won 81 medals at the Summer and Winter Olympic Games (27 gold, 23 silver, 31 bronze).
The Estonian Olympic Committee is an organisation founded on 8 December 1923. The current IOC was formed in 2001 with the merger of the Estonian Olympic Committee, which focused on Olympic sports, and the Estonian Sports Confederation, which brought together all Estonian sports organisations.
