Christmas! Why is it only once a year? January ushered in a new and exciting new year. February soon arrives, showing us spring shining behind snowdrifts. March then rushes in and with melt-water and flowers summer is soon here. Midsummer Day then arrives, and when the fires die out evenings suddenly get dark and August nights gradually bring us into the season of golden leaves. Through a lot of rustling that time also passes and bare twigs knock on our shoulders telling us to take out our cat’s eyes and umbrellas. Something big is felt to be in the air, we eagerly watch the snowflakes twirling in the air and we hide our ears in our hats. The long-awaited Christmas finally walks in. The world around turns peaceful and slow and suddenly it no longer looks so cold and dark outside. Why is Christmas only once a year?
